Free Weights

No gym is complete without some free weights. Fortunately K-Mart has this handy little kit that supplies good quality and affordable price. The weights are secured with screw-star (threaded) collars which hold the weights in place without any movement; only needed to tighten after a number of days using them.

The price was $49.95 for each "briefcase" making it perfect for the budget and wallet. I got two sets mainly to have the ability to setup different weights for different exercises.

There are 18 pieces to the set and includes two dumbells. There is eight, one kilogram cast iron weight discs and four, two kilogram weight discs. The total being twenty kilograms.

I really like the ability to place the items back in a fairly secure package, closing with a click button to prevent dust and such wearing out the set in my outdoor shed and comes with a handy, handle :)

Ringmaster 300 and Everlast Bag

I needed a good strong boxing stand and bag...so I looked at the RingMaster 300 heavy duty boxing stand and a solid 70 pound Polycanvas Everlast Bag and fortunately got both at a bargain; A total cost at  $250AUS! I've got a selection of free weights which I use to secure the stand in it's area using the three prong holders.

The stand provides a good stable bag to be fixed without much play. Though you could add sway, I'm preferring the more rigid approach using the bag and stand more for conditioning than actual boxing techniques with big hits. It's a good height, even for my 6'2" frame and provides ample room for foot work and movement.

The Everlast Bag is specially blended filler mix of sanitized synthetic and natural fibers that provide resilient shock absorbency. It has a Premium synthetic polycanvas along with superior heavy bag construction providing long lasting durability. The heavy duty nylon straps provide security and safety, while the double end loop provides increased functionality.

A photo of a rowing machine from Fleet Fitness

Rented this beast for 6 months and then bought it due to it's perfect workout; perhaps the best rowing work-out without water! It's easy to clean and perform maintenance when required. It's not loud when in operation and gives a polite "woosh" sound on higher settings as if you are breaking through that water!

While it's not the highest end rower, it's mid to high range that makes it perfect for heavy home use. High end domestic, corporate and commercial product that comes with adjustable drag and a full length slide rail.
